Youth's Inventory-4 (YI-4)

User Level: B

The Youth's Inventory-4 (YI-4) is a self-report rating scale that helps to evaluate a variety of adolescent psychiatric disorders and is based on the criteria specified in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV ( American Psychiatric Association;1994). The YI-4 contains 120 items that correspond with those in the Adolescent Symptom Inventory-4 (ASI-4) and is designed to be completed in less than 30 minutes. The YI-4 is appropriate for use with male and female adolescents aged 12-18 years and in 6th through 12th grade.

The YI-4 can provide valuable insight into the youth's perceptions of his or her problems.  It is designed to be used in conjunction with the ASI-4. This rather unique instrument is well-suited for use in school and clinical settings.
